Baggage Handling System Technician

ERMC technicians specialize not only in the boarding bridge maintenance, but also in maintaining the ancillary equipment including 400 HZ/28 VDC, preconditioned air units, potable water cabinets and baggage lifts. We are currently hiring a Senior Technician 


Position: Baggage Handling Tech

Location: VPS Fort Walton Beach Airport

Compensation: Based on experience



  • Inspecting and performing preventative electrical maintenance and repairs on baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges. 

  • Maintaining and repairing the terminal mechanical plants electrical equipment including pumps, valves, boilers, chillers, motors, switchgear, motor control centers, breaker panels, and other components. 

  • Surveying the overall condition of the terminal building electrical systems and other airport facilities to determine any repairs and updates needed. 

  • Troubleshooting motor and PLC controls. 

  • Working on the controls for HVAC systems and air handlers. 

  • Completing various electrical repairs and maintenance and documenting work completed 

  • Utilize computer skills including email, Microsoft Word and Excel, and computer workorder software. 



Minimum Requirements: 

  • 3-5 years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience. 

  • Strong ability to troubleshoot motor controls and various electrical issues. 

  • Experience with mechanical/electrical distribution systems. 

  • Motor controls and PLC experience. 

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently. 

  • Possession of a valid Class C license 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

  • Possession of a valid Class C license. 



Job Types: Full-time, Part-time 

Salary: $Up to 36.00 hr. + OT + Flight benefits

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week 


Experience level: 

  • 3-5 years of hands on electro-mechanical maintenance. 

  • Industrial or Plant Maintenance: 3 years (Required) 

  • Electrical Troubleshooting: 3 years (Required) 

  • PLC: 2 years troubleshooting (Required) Programming (highly preferred)

  • Conveyor installation and Maintenance: 3 years (Required) 

  • Maintenance in an Airport Environment (highly desired) 



  • Day shift or Evening Shift (shifts will be assigned based on the need) 

  • Holidays 

  • Monday to Friday 

  • Overtime 

  • Weekends as needed
