Requirements and Description

We are currently seeking a BHS and PBB Maintenance Technician to join our team at the AVL Airport. Our Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridge Maintenance Technicians play a vital role in ensuring the services we provide meet high-quality standards set forth by our clients while pursuing a rewarding career in the asset maintenance industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance on baggage handling systems to ensure all components (conveyors, motors, scanners, etc.) are working properly.
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system faults.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to reduce system downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Adjust or calibrate machinery as necessary.
  • Monitor system performance and perform quality checks.
  • Performing maintenance and repair operations
  • Assists with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning, and greasing.
  • Other Miscellaneous Routine Maintenance, as needed
  • Diagnoses equipment failures under the guidance of senior personnel; ensures equipment is running safely.
  • Takes direction and seeks the guidance and expertise of senior-level personnel and accepts their training and mentoring.
  • Reads and interprets repair manuals, basic schematics, and supervisor/manager’s instructions.
  • Follows and complies with all company and federally established policies and procedures; completes all applicable training courses assigned by the company
  • Complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
  • Compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies, and procedures. 

Technical Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, conveyors, scanners, and control systems.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing automated control systems and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
  • Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and industrial control systems.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic components and their maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.
  • Experience with networked systems, including communication protocols used in baggage handling systems.

Standard Qualifications:
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Completing
  • Must possess a Government ID and social security card.
  • Must be able to obtain and keep an airport security badge.
  • Must have or be able to attain reliable transportation.
  • Able to work in extreme conditions, such as hot and cold weather, as well as small spaces
  • Able to receive appropriate security clearances after completing a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work extended hours depending on operational needs.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
