Requirements and Description

Summary

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in Aircrafts Cleaning Support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other Duties may be assigned.

Assigns tasks to workers, and inspects completed work for conformance to standards.

Issues supplies and equipment.

Resolves workers' problems or refers matters to manager.

Records employees' hours worked on shift reports.

Submits requests for repair of cleaning equipment.

Requisitions or purchases cleaning supplies and equipment.

Performs duties of workers supervised.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATH ABILITY:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Payroll systems.

CERTIFICATIONS and/or LICENSES REQUIRED

    Applicable valid drivers license as required by airport authority in order to operate a vehicle or equipment.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable 

Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable

Work any shift, including weekends and holidays

Work overtime on short notice in emergencies or when operationally necessary

MATERIALS USED

 Uses specialized cleaning solutions and materials; uses equipment such as mops, brushes, floor machine waxer/buffer, vacuum cleaner and brooms.  May drive golf cart or pick van.

    The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
