Requirements and Description

Under general supervision, the Bus Supervisor coordinates and directs the movement of Delta Crew Members/Employees/ and business partners utilizing Commercial Buses.  The position will coordinate with the managers and dispatchers by radio and/or company phone to support personnel.  Additionally, all supervisors will perform supervisory and administrative activities at their field locations. Supervisors will oversee personnel and ensures that scheduled and special services operate efficiently.  Performs safety observations and author reports to ensure compliance with operating standards and provides feedback and refresher coaching to assist staff with problems.


Distinguishing Characteristics

This position will be assigned to the LGA Airport Employee Shuttle Operation to assist the aviation department.

Provides supervision, counseling, and coaching of transit operators to ensure compliance with Rules and Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, uniform regulation, general appearance, and readiness to work; directly responsible for assigned groups of transit operators, and documents daily activity as required.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Able to lead a CDL team.
  • Provide safety related training and monthly operator re-training to all existing employees.
  • Build a relationship with the customer (Delta) and their business partners.
  • Oversee and provide continuous coaching to bus operators.
  • Perform post-accident/incident reporting procedures.
  • Review daily schedules for coverage to align with contract budgeted hours.
  • Able to adjust employee O.T. hours in accordance with DOT Hours of Service Restrictions.
  • Able to create reports utilizing Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Google Office Suite.
  • Coordinate with the Safety and Compliance department for all company related safety assignments.
  • Able to work shift during a 24-hour operation.
  • Able to work in office or field setting during a 24-hour period.


Required Skills:
  • 2 years of management experience leading a team.
  • Able to author daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to use Google Office Suite.
  • Ability to create training plans.
  • Ability to create/write an accident/incident report. 
  • Ability to complete monthly Safety Initiatives set by corporate.
  • Able to coach or train safety procedure skills to operators. 


Optional Skills:
  • CDL Class B (Air Brake and Passenger Endorsement).
  • 2 years of Bus or Truck driving experience.
